多くの学者は、ヴェルギナのトゥーム2（Tomb II）がピリッポス2世の火葬遺骨を収めていると考えていますが、まだ確かな証拠は得られていません。

これに加えて、アレクサンダー大王の墓の場所もまだ特定されていない状況です。
