研究主任のセム・ベルク・セネル（Cem Berk Senel）氏は「これまで考えられてた以上に、微小な粉塵が気候変動や生態系の崩壊に及ぼした影響は大きかったことが確認された」と述べています。

こうして長く続いた恐竜時代が終わるとともに、多くの動植物も姿を消すことになりました。

しかし、それでも生命は生き残る道を見つけていました。

地球規模の惨事を耐え抜いた鳥類や哺乳類、昆虫、魚類たちが、新しい世界を築き上げていったのです。

彼らの頑張りがなければ、今日の私たちも存在してはいなかったでしょう。
